Terry Fox Run
This year is the 40th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and Iron Ridge Elementary Campus is proud to be continuing the legacy of one of our greatest heroes. Due to COVID-19, the Terry Fox Run will look a little bit different this year. This year the theme is Your Run, Your Way. Classes will complete a walk/run with their class in a unique way. Teachers will make it on a day/time that works well for their class to adhere to safety guidelines. Teachers will choose a time during the week of OCTOBER 13-16th to complete the class walk/run.
In Terry’s spirit, we will still be fundraising for this very important cause. In past years, IREC has been a huge supporter of the Terry Fox Foundation and we would like to continue that support this year. We will be accepting ONLINE donations ONLY through the Terry Fox website or through the Parent Portal. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. This year, our goal is to raise $2500 as a school community. There are three ways to donate:
- Parent Portal - Parents can go online and make a donation through there school Parent Portal Account.
- Terry Fox Website at http://www.terryfox.ca/IronRidgeElementaryCampus. From there family and friends can donate by sponsoring a student or making a general contribution to the school.
- Create a Student Webpage -Students may also set up their own fundraising page through the Terry Fox website with the help of a parent. They may then give their personal link to family and friends.
The fundraising deadline is October 16th. We thank you in advance for your support with this great cause. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
